House Bill 18-1296 – “Unattended Motor Vehicles Remote Starter Systems”

Concerning an expansion of the ability to leave a motor vehicle unattended in certain circumstances.

Summary:

Currently, if a person’s motor vehicle has a remote starter system and adequate security measures, he or she may leave the motor vehicle unattended while the engine is running. The bill provides that a motor vehicle may be left unattended if either a remote starter system or adequate security measures are in place.

House Bill 18-1300 – “Bachelor Nursing Completion Degree Local District College”

Concerning granting authority for local district colleges to provide a bachelor of science degree in nursing program as a completion degree to students who have or are pursuing an associate degree in nursing.

Summary:

The bill allows a local district college (college), such as Aims community college, to offer a bachelor of science degree in nursing program as a completion degree in nursing to students who have or are pursuing an associate degree in nursing, provided that the college’s board of trustees determines it is appropriate to address the needs of the communities within its service area, as approved by the Colorado commission on higher education based on existing criteria.

House Bill 18-1302 – “Toxicology Lab Certification Waiver Colorado Department of Public Health And Environment”

Concerning the allowance of the department of public health and environment to waive certification requirements for toxicology laboratories that have been accredited by an entity using recognized forensic standards.

Summary:

Current law allows the department of public health and environment (department) to waive certain certification requirements for toxicology laboratories that are accredited by the American board of forensic toxicology or the international standards organization. The bill changes the waiver requirement to allow the department to waive certification requirements if the laboratory is accredited by an entity using nationally or internationally recognized forensic standards.
